Priority area

The types of expenditure your donation will help Wolfson fund in this extraordinary year:

General Fund:

Changes to our buildings and outdoor spaces to ensure a safe environment and minimise infection risk when students, staff and members return. This includes making college COVID secure, for example:

  • Screens, PPE, deep cleaning and improvements to the layout
  • Reimagining indoor and outdoor spaces to open up the estate
  • Additional tables, chairs and other furniture for greater social distancing

Student Support Fund:

Awards in support of students and their families from less financially advantaged backgrounds who are, through no fault of their own, in unanticipated hardship and financially worse off than before. This includes essentials and bursaries, such as:

  • Undergraduate top-up bursaries for means-tested students reducing the burden of debt
  • Masters studentships to enable talented scholars to take up their place during times of financial uncertainty
  • Critical awards for a 10th term for PhD students who need extra time to complete their PhD where their study has been delayed over the summer
  • Funds for laptops and other unexpected expenditure, for example £75 provides a one-off hardship grant, and £300 will support a student's course-related travel

Ways to give:

If you have any queries, including giving through other means, please contact the Development Office. If you would like to see more methods for providing a gift please click here.

A one-off gift of any amount

Many supporters give single donations and gifts of any size together make a big difference. All donors are invited to an annual garden party at College and are recognised in Wolfson’s Annual Review.

A regular gift over multiple years

Donors who choose to give a regular annual, quarterly, or monthly donation will help the College to plan ahead with greater financial certainty as we will have a steady income stream to rely on. At this crucial time, please consider making a regular commitment for the next 3 or 4 years - the time it takes for a student to complete an undergraduate degree or postgraduate study.

As an example, a gift of £1,000 a year for three years will provide an undergraduate student with a top-up bursary throughout their study.

The President’s Circle

Donors who give £1,000 or more a year become members of the President’s Circle. This group of donors together raised more than £150,000 in the past 12 months.
